15 days ago, we unveiled the Digital Can Drive to help launch our yearlong initiative. We started with a simple mantra:
15 days. 1.5 million meals. 15,000 promises to end hunger.
We have far surpassed our initial goals and have built the foundation for a vibrant movement. Much more than just an awareness campaign, the Digital Can Drive has helped create meaningful relationships with people all over the United States who are each committed to ending hunger in America.
At 5pm ET/2pm PT, we began to verify the results. Tomorrow (Friday), we will announce the official Top 10 states by 3pm ET/12 noon PT.
Even though, the Digital Can Drive has come to an end, WeCanEndThis.com is just getting started. We’ll be announcing more details for our next phase on Monday.
Let us what you think so far. We realize we’re imperfect and are always open to new ideas and different opinions.

Great campaign except it is confusing to know if you only donate once, if you are to come backd daily, where to click isn’t obvious etc.
I normally share this with everyone I know but it wasn’t obvious enough.
Again, a great campaign though.
Barb – thanks for the feedback. Yes, just one can per email address. We are looking for people to promise to help going forward, not just people to click.
I tried to let my co-workers participate today at work and it wasn’t counting multiple votes from different people done on my computer. What’s that all about?
If you refresh your browser between submittals, it should work as long as they have different email addresses.
Vermont is thrilled !!! Thanks everyone.
Now if the UVM Catamounts beat Syracuse …….
Oklahoma is so excited! We have a huge volunteer base here in Tulsa that support the local food bank and anything that helps provide food to those in need. Great campaign!
Great campaign. It was fun getting my friends and family to help and keeping an eye on the progress. I am exploring more ways to help here in Tulsa, Thank you for all you do to help end hunger.
I work for Emergency Infant Services, a non-profit that serves children 5 and under in Tulsa. We are served by the Community Foodbank of Eastern Oklahoma, and are SO excited at the response that Tulsa gave to this challenge. Sadly, hunger is on the rise in our community, and everyone seemed excited to learn more and make a difference. thanks for a great momentum building campaign!
A great campaign! I’m curious, too, about how people mobilized voting for their states.
I was disappointed in the way winners were chosen. We are only a bit over 600,000 people in Vermont so it was HUGE for us to come in second, yet a big state could beat us. It would be nice if you could also tie participation to a percentage of the population next time. Just a thought but a great idea you had to get people motivated to help.
We were disappointed to hear that the food coming to Connecticut will go to just one food bank rather than being split between the two food banks that serve the state. We worked hard to get digital cans donated in the Hartford area, but won’t see any of the food for families in need here.
